Dear Friends,
What a joy it is to know our Lord today! We have been having entirely too much fun these days. Well, really now, I am not so sure that is possible, to have too much fun, but we have been enjoying every day during the month of October. We have been greatly strengthened though these days and are excited about November coming.
The month started off with a great couple of days at Northwestern College. We were given the opportunity to share in 3 classes, and held an open forum with several professors and administrative faculty there. All this was part of their Disability Awareness Week. Jordana shared two spectacular messages to the student body. She was the chapel speaker there for two consecutive days, so all told she communicated God’s overcoming power to more than 1000 students. It was truly a glorious time for both of us and even had an interview over the student radio for the campus. I include here some comments made by staff members of the college.
“Thank you for two wonderful days of presentations during Disability Awareness Week 2009. You made a significant impact on many people on our campus. Jordana, we are still hearing comments on the chapels when you presented your story and the ministry of Cristo Vive. Your time in the classroom and in the casual interactions was all significant to our community and especially to our students.”
We were so blessed to have three opportunities to share time with great churches in our network this month. It is so rewarding to be an encouragement to the friends we have made over these past several years.
Osito had his 4th birthday. He enjoyed a great celebration with 8 special children friends as well as 9 want to be children. We had a great time and what joy it is to see him growing so wonderfully. There were trains hanging from the ceiling, a Gordon birthday cake, more train gifts, the live train production clip to share with his friends. I am not sure how much more we can have trains running around the house. He truly enjoyed attempting to break open the train piñata.
Another huge joy for us these past couple of months is Andrea Paz, a great young lady from Quito, Ecuador. She has been with us since early September and has been such a valuable help in our lives. She is gone home now as of, October 28 and each of us will miss her a lot. Jordana was able to catch up on so much as Andrea helped her in so many ways. Thanks Andrea. She is going home to return to work and school. If you would like to bless her on our behalf, we would really love that. She was intending on working for these 2 months to earn money for college but stayed to help us instead. She could really use the financial blessings.
As we prepare for the upcoming months we wish to encourage you to increase your giving to this ministry. We are finding ourselves very far behind in our funds and the needs have not diminished. So as you can, please pitch in some addition support this month and lets see the kingdom of God return that blessing to your household as well.

With huge joy, we greet you today,
Gene & Jordana Engebretsen |
